I'm serious about this. We've had a number of examples up where the images Matt has posted contain odd noise, like he took a picture of his computer screen to get the image and then ran that picture through a photocopier. More examples are available through these links:

He's saving images that were originally GIFs or PNGs as JPEGs. Because JPEG is suited for photos, it does terrible things with straight-line drawings.
